Described as “the concrete of the future,” Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) is efficient, but deforestation concerns remain. The State of the World’s Forests 2020 report indicates that 420 million hectares of forest have disappeared since 1990. Sustainable building practices are essential, as replacing non-renewable materials with wood can reduce carbon emissions by 14%-31% and fossil fuel consumption by 12%-19%.
